Originally inaugurated in 1903 with an opera by Jacob Meyerbeer, and almost completely destroyed by a devasting fire in 1991, it took an enormous effort to be reconstructed and restored to its former glory. Shakespeare’s Globe 🎭🏛🏴
Since its opening in 1997 the Shakespeare’s Globe has been one of my favourite entertainment venues on the London Southbank, with very enjoyable performances of Shakespeare’s plays during the summer.
