Built in 1909, the BBC Maida Vale Studios were orginally the home of the Maida Vale Roller Skating Palace and Club. In the 1930s the building became home to the BBC Symphony Orchestra and later was also a standby centre of the BBC radio news service during the Second World War. Theย Studios are now used for a variety of liveย performances andย recordings of the BBC Orchestras and classical music programmes. These sometimes also require invited audience for which tickets are provided through an application and random draw, accessible through the BBC website. A reccommended treat to experience how a radio programme is produced and recorded at very high standards.
