🇬🇧Christ the Redeemer at sunset – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 

Dominating the skyline of the “beautiful city” from the tallest hill at the back of the Brazilian metropolis’ sandy beaches, this colossal Art Deco statue of Christ is the most iconic image of Rio and is absolutely stunning in the striking sunset light. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 metres high, with the arms stretching 28 metres wide. A dwarf in comparison to the tallest statue in the world, recently inaugurated in Gujarat, India, standing 182 metres high and representing Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.  

🇮🇹 – Cristo Redentore al tramonto, Rio de Janeiro, Brasile – Dominando la “città meravigliosa” dalla collina più alta sul retro delle spiagge sabbiose della metropoli brasiliana, questa colossale statua Art Déco di Cristo è l’immagine più iconica di Rio ed è stupefacente nella suggestiva luce del tramonto. Costruita tra il 1922 e il 1931, la statua è alta 30 metri, con le braccia larghe 28 metri. Un nano rispetto alla statua più alta del mondo, recentemente inaugurata nel Gujarat, in India, alta 182 metri e che rappresenta lo statista indiano e attivista per l’indipendenza Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
