Composer of some of the most popular operas put on stage around the world – Tosca, Madame Buttefly, Boheme, Turandot, Manon Lescaut – Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) also had world-wide recognised fame during his life. By the time of Puccini’s death in 1924, he had earned $4 million from his works.
Still today, three of his operas (La bohรจme, Tosca, and Madame Butterfly) are amongst the 10 most frequently performed operas worldwide
Below is a video offeaturing Luciano Pavarotti, a great interpreter of Puccini’s arias, here in one of the main arias from Tosca, performed live in 2000 at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.

I went to Pucciniโs birth house in Lucca recently which was great to visit.
I would love visiting his places along that coast. There is also a Puccini Festival during the summer at Torre del Lago.
