🇬🇧 For more 30 years now the Nando’s brand has been very successful in bringing typical Afro-Portuguese cuisine and good service in the global fast-food market. The rapid expansion in the UK in the early 90’s and the following steady growth of the restaurant chain has meant we now have a Nando’s store, out of the 400 nationwide, serving also our neighbourhood. Or at least this was the situation before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Actually, there is a Nando’s restaurant just on the ground floor of my block and it has been one of my favourite destinations when in need of a quick roasted chicken fix. The quality of the food and service is always very high, relatively to its market segment, and one can consistently find the same offer across the many restaurants dotted around the city at good value cost. My preference about peri-peri cuisine goes to the mild flavour of lemon and herb and one can find the same sauce in most supermarket when you want to recreate the same recipe at home. After the closure of all restaurants in the aftermath of the recent lockdown, recently restaurants are now reopening, at least with collect or delivery service. You’re never too far away from a peri-peri chicken!

🇮🇹 Da più di 30 anni il marchio Nando’s ha avuto molto successo nel portare la cucina tipica afro-portoghese e un buon servizio nel mercato globale dei fast-food. La rapida espansione nel Regno Unito nei primi anni ’90 e la conseguente costante crescita della catena di ristoranti ha fatto sì che ora abbiamo un negozio Nando’s, sui 400 in tutto il paese, che serve anche il nostro quartiere. O almeno questa era la situazione prima del blocco COVID-19.

In realtà, c’è un ristorante Nando’s proprio al piano terra del mio isolato ed è stata una delle mie destinazioni preferite quando ha bisogno di una soluzione di pollo arrosto veloce. La qualità del cibo e del servizio è sempre molto alta, relativamente al suo segmento di mercato, e si può trovare costantemente la stessa offerta nei numerosi ristoranti sparsi per la città a un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. La mia preferenza per la cucina peri-peri va al sapore delicato della salsa limone ed erbe che si può trovare anche nella maggior parte dei supermercati quando si desidera ricreare la stessa ricetta a casa. Dopo la chiusura di tutti i ristoranti all’indomani del recente blocco sanitario, recentemente i ristoranti stanno riaprendo, almeno con il servizio di ritiro o consegna. Non sei mai troppo lontano da un pollo peri-peri!
