Celebrating the 118th anniversary of the birth of Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali is one of the most famous surrealist painters in history. He was a Spanish painter and graphic artist who was born in 1904 and died in 1989. The surrealist movement emerged from the Dadaism of France, but it is more closely aligned with the tradition of European Symbolism. It is a type of art that makes use of images which are not based on reality, but they can represent a meaningful concept or idea.

Salvador Dali is mostly known for his work in the surrealist movement. He was a Spanish painter and sculptor who created a number of paintings that are almost impossible to describe. In 1922, he met poet Federico Garcia Lorca and they became friends. They both believed that surrealism had a place in poetry as well as painting. The two would exchange letters about their work, ideas, and inspirations which helped them grow as artists.
