Supernovae, by Vasarely 🔳🔲◼️

🇬🇧Supernovae, oil painting by Victor Vasarely, 1960, exhibited at the Tate Modern. Considered one of the leaders of the op art movement Vasarely started experimenting in the 1930s with perspectives, textural effects, shadows and light to render optical illusions. Supernovae is a typical example of Optical Art, realised just using black and white and geometrical shapes to obtain the illusion of a tridimensional effect on the canvas.

🇮🇹 Supernovae, olio su tela di Victor Vasarely, 1960, esposto alla Tate Modern. Considerato uno dei leader del movimento artistico, Vasarely iniziò a sperimentare negli anni ’30 con prospettive, effetti materici, ombre e luce per rendere illusioni ottiche. Supernovae è un tipico esempio di Optical Art, realizzato utilizzando solo forme in bianco e nero e geometriche per ottenere l’illusione di un effetto tridimensionale sulla tela.
