Last Sunday was my birthday and a very dear friend of mine treated me for brunch in a restaurant I had never been to but it is part of a high quality franchise in London. In actual fact, The Ivy brand is always a guarantee of good service and quality food, now confirmed also by this newly discovered brasserie in Kensington. The interior design of this restaurant resonates with the decor of the other Ivy outlets in the West End and in Chelsea, which are always among my favourites for eating out with friends. In thi one there are some refernces to the Great Exibition of 1851 which took place in nearby Hyde Park.

The weekend brunch menu for offers many options for starters, classic breakfast dishes and main courses, featuring also many variations for poached eggs and pancakes. They also have a separate menu with vegetarian and vegan options which look very appealing.

I ended up going for some avocado and spinach eggs Benedict, served with thick cut chips, while my friend went for some colourful crispy polenta cakes with artichoke puree. Attention to service is always a focus of this restaurant and it is always very much appreciated.
The portions were quite generous and I found it filling for a brunch, so much so we decided to share the dessert, some frozen berries with delicious warm white chocolate sauce.
It was my anniversary so I was also treated with a cute little lemon tart with one candle, I no longer count the years, which made this a very delightful birthday meal.

Going around for a little walk in the area after eating we discovered the restaurant has a garden terrace at the back, which would be excellent for a meal al fresco when the season allows later on in the year. I definitely want to come back here.
