🇬🇧 When I read this book for the first time I was a teenager and eager to find inspiration for adventurous outlooks in life. Forty years later the great philosophy behind the book seems to be very thin, simplistic and no longer a source of great inspiration, as it was at first sight. Probably this is one of those books which is son of its … Continue reading Jonathan Livingstone Seagull 📖🐦🛩
🇬🇧 Pereira Maintains – A short novel but many well written, set in Portugal in the period immediately before the last world war. While radical changes are beginning to crack the status quo around him, an anonymous and calm journalist travels through an unexpected parable of life that makes him a hero of our times. Tabucchi paints with vivid colors a Lisbon of other times, … Continue reading Sostiene Pereira 📖🇵🇹🇮🇹
🇬🇧 Paul Street Boys by Molnar was a delightful rediscover in preparation for my first visit to Budapest. The choice inevitably fell on a book that I had not taken into my hands for forty years. What a thrill to relive the vicissitudes of the two groups of teenagers fighting each other for the use of a pitch for afternoon games. Even at the time … Continue reading Paul Street Boys 📚👦🏻🇭🇺

🇬🇧 The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles – Intrigue, sex and magic are fabulous ingredients for a successful and engaging novel, with the additional edge of being set against a contrasting Victorian background. My first book of the “Charm of Magpies” series and by the author, but I’m pretty sure I’ll cast my eyes on other episodes very soon. 🇮🇹 Il Signore delle gazze … Continue reading The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles 🐦🤵🏻📖
La colpa by Ghirghis Ramal My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🇮🇹 Una scrittura lucida e sorprendente per il caso letterario dell’anno.
Just finished one of my most pleasurable reading of the last novel, Separated Rooms, by Tondelli, a talented writer we lost too soon 👨🏽💻♥️📚📱 Continue reading Separated Rooms
