Amarga.

Duele en la planta del pie
el interior de la cara,
y duele en el tronco fresco
de noche recién cortada.

¡Amor, enemigo mío,
muerde tu raíz amarga!
🇬🇧 Gacela of the bitter root, by Federico García Lorca
There is a bitter root
and a world of a thousand terraces.

Not even the smallest hand
breaks the door of water.

Where are you going,
where, where?

There is a sky of a thousand windows
- battle of livid bees -
and there is a bitter root.

Bitter.

It hurts in the sole of the foot
the inside of the face,
and it hurts in the fresh trunk
of freshly cut night.

Love, my enemy,
bite your bitter root!
This poem is included in the recent ebook that brings together the posthumous poetic compositions of Federica García Lorca translated into English, “Dark Love Sonnets”, now available on Amazon

Dove stai andando, dove, dove?
C'è un cielo di mille finestre
- battaglia di api livide -
e c'è una radice amara.

Amara.

Fa male nella pianta del piede,
nell'interno del viso,
e fa male nel tronco fresco
della notte appena tagliata.

Amore, mio nemico,
mordi la tua radice amara!
