Hay una raíz amarga
y un mundo de mil terrazas.
Ni la mano más pequeña
quiebra la puerta del agua.
¿Dónde vas, adónde, dónde?
Hay un cielo de mil ventanas
-batalla de abejas lívidas-
y hay una raíz amarga.
Amarga.
Duele en la planta del pie
el interior de la cara,
y duele en el tronco fresco
de noche recién cortada.
¡Amor, enemigo mío,
muerde tu raíz amarga!

There is a bitter root
and a world of a thousand terraces.
Not even the smallest hand
breaks the door of water.
Where are you going,
where, where?
There is a sky of a thousand windows
- battle of livid bees -
and there is a bitter root.
Bitter.
It hurts in the sole of the foot
the inside of the face,
and it hurts in the fresh trunk
of freshly cut night.
Love, my enemy,
bite your bitter root!

C'è una radice amara
e un mondo di mille terrazze.
Nemmeno la più piccola mano
rompe la porta dell'acqua.
Dove stai andando, dove, dove?
C'è un cielo di mille finestre
- battaglia di api livide -
e c'è una radice amara.
Amara.
Fa male nella pianta del piede,
nell'interno del viso,
e fa male nel tronco fresco
della notte appena tagliata.
Amore, mio nemico,
mordi la tua radice amara!
