๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง – Childhood V, by Arthur Rimbaud

Let me finally rent this tomb, whitewashed with the lines of cement in relief - far underground.

I lean on the table, the lamp shines very brightly on these newspapers that I am stupid to reread, these uninteresting books.

At an enormous distance above my underground living room, the houses take root, the mists gather. The mud is red or black. Monstrous city, endless night!

Less high, are sewers. At the sides, nothing but the thickness of the globe. Perhaps the azure chasms, wells of fire. It is perhaps on these planes that moons and comets, seas and fables meet.

In the hours of bitterness I imagine balls of sapphire, of metal. I am the master of silence. Why would an airhole appearance turn pale at the corner of the arch?

Perchรฉ un buco d'aria dovrebbe impallidire all'angolo dell'arco?
